Presidential Dinner
Just a 3-minute walk from the APVRS 2017 Congress venue, the Grand Salon at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is an elegant, sophisticated venue for any occasion. Guests will be served a customized 4-course menu featuring signature Malay ingredients such as mango, prawns, chili and more. At Adau, an experimental world music band from the island of Borneo, will perform their truly unique compositions, which combine traditional Sape’ music with the sounds of Africa, Latin America, Persia and beyond.

Both food and culture in Malaysia are world renowned and popular tourist attractions. Be prepared to experience all that is great about Malaysian cuisine and culture under one roof at the KL Convention Centre Grand Ballroom, which will be transformed into a magical venue under the lights of the Petronas Twin Towers for the APVRS 2017 Congress Party.

Delegates and their guests can visit hawker style food stands to sample freshly cooked local delights that represent all the main ethnic groups in Malaysia. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by the National Dance Troupe, who will perform the music and dance of the diverse peoples of Malaysia.

“Tak kenal maka tak cinta” (ie, one has to meet to fall in love) is a local Malay saying that beckons visitors to experience Malaysia’s cultural heritage of traditional arts and crafts. Based on the influences of nature, spiritual beliefs and ancestral roots, these handicrafts not only tell a tale of its people, but also shed light on the rich history that has shaped modern Malaysia.

In keeping these traditions alive, APVRS 2017 Congress organizers would like to offer many not-to-be-missed cultural experiences to all attendees at the Congress Party. At interactive handicraft stations displaying traditional elements of Malaysian culture, delegates can watch demonstrations and get hands-on experience with the following activities.
